A Place of Safety

Growing up in Judea, where soldiers leave through the gates and come back with wounds or don't come back at all, has taught Eve not to get too attached. But when Helaman's stripling soldiers march through the gates and begin work on the embattlements, Eve meets a young soldier that might make getting attached worth the risk.

Jarom's one of the youngest soldiers in Helaman's army, but he isn't lacking in faith, skill, or a willingness to fight for the girl he wants, even if it means punching his older brother in the gut. And the jaw. And the nose.  But a bloody nose won't change the way his brother feels about Eve. He trusts God to keep him safe in battle, but he'll have to trust Him with Eve's heart, or he might just lose her to his brother after all.
